As part of the Listening section of the PTE test, which is Part 3, you will receive the first task, Summarize Spoken Text. In this task, your listening section begins, and the test takers must pay close attention. As you listen to an audio and then type a summary of it, this task contributes to your Listening and Writing scores. We will, therefore, explain what the PTE Summarize Spoken Text task is, how it is scored, and how to master it in this post, along with an easy-to-use template that you can use to get the highest score. We'll also provide some examples and explain how you can do it.
In PTE Summarize Spoken Text, you are required to listen to an audio recording, which is normally a lecture or an interview, and provide a 50–70-word summary of that lecture. PTE considers this a way to assess your ability to listen to and write about what you hear. Please note that the audio recording is playing automatically and that you can only listen to it once.
